Excited to cover local politics

The last time I covered local politics/local elections was in 2007 when I was still assigned to cover the Quezon City beat for TEMPO. This time, as a writer for both TEMPO and Manila Bulletin, I will have the chance to cover the local elections in both Pasig City and Pateros.

Medyo kinakabahan ako dahil next week na ang start ng campaign period for local candidates pero excited at upbeat din ako at the same time dahil bagong experience na naman sa akin ito bilang reporter.

The local police and officials from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in both Pasig City and Pateros, meanwhile, expect an Honest, Orderly and Peaceful (HOPE) conduct of elections in both areas this May especially na this will be the first time na magiging automated ang halalan.

Kami din sa media gusto namin na maging maayos ang proseso ng halalan para maiwasan na ang bangayan at doubts among politicians and supporters sa credibility ng halalan. Hopefully with the election process going hi-tech, maisakatuparan ito.
